Wild Backyard

We have a tiny backyard here in Noosaville.I would guess it measures about 5 metres X 10 metres and about 1/3 of that is paved. But it is surprising the number of wildlife that visit us from time to time.

'Blue' the Blue Tongue Lizard is my favourite. He has been living with us ever since we arrived and he hangs out underneath the hot water service.

'The Count' came to visit us last year and stayed a few days.

Possoms.....love 'em or hate 'em... cause they do keep you awake at night!! We havent seen him for a while 'cause the creeper he used to use to climb up  has been cut down.
Golden Orb Spider.Named because of the beautiful web they weave that looks like spun gold. The spider is "hideous" though,I would hate to accidently walk into his web and see him face to face.

This little guy came to visit us last year on Christmas Day.

..and we had to evict this one before he ate his way through the entire garden!
We've had frogs,Rainbow Lorikeets, beautiful butterflies, and heaps more that I havent been quick enough to shoot with my camera......no need for a traditional pet around here... and they look after themselves!!
