A look around Lorne.

I,m still here!!
It's been hard to post anything over the past two weeks.
I have been busy catching up with my family and friends here in Lorne and have had trouble getting regular internet access.
Here are a few photos of my beautiful home town that I have taken while I have been here.....
Hope you like them.

Lorne Main Beach.

Saint Cuthberts Uniting Church is a beautiful old building right in the main Street.

Lorne Pier. This is the new pier which was built just two years ago.

The"Swing Bridge"is a suspension bridge built in the 1920's (I think). It is a footbridge that crosses the Erskine River giving access to the beach beyond.

Lorne Beach.                                                                      Scotchmans Hill picnic area.

The Lorne Picture Theatre circa 1930's.Mountjoy Parade.Lorne.Vic. Australia.

Eucalyptus.Lorne.Victoria Australia.

I am 'home' in Lorne enjoying the fresh cool air and the rain.
This is the view from the side of our house.Beautiful Eucalyptus trees surround our property and after a few showers of rain the smell of eucalyptus hangs in the air.Just beautiful!!
When we get a car I will post lots more photos.

Mosaic Monday

Christine's Garden
 I love flowers.
There is always at least one vase of fresh flowers placed somewhere in our house.I love arranging them and I love looking at them and the house just doesn't feel right unless there are flowers there somewhere.
My sister loves growing them and is not as fussed as me about putting them in vases inside the house.Hense, whenever I visit her I inevitably  leave with armfuls of  something from her garden.Lucky me.
Last time I visited, along with leaving with a big bunch of blooms, I also took a few photos of the garden and decided to make them into a mosaic.

Creative Every Day challenge....HOME

LORNE
Each month Leah at" Creative Every Day"chooses a theme word for us to use to help us become more creative. It's a fun challenge and the word is chosen just as a starting point to get the creative juices going....

The theme word for Feb. is HOME.

Above is a photo of  LORNE the town I grew up in and the place I still call 'HOME'. I lived there  for 50 something years, went to school there, was married there, my children were born there, and went to school there, some of my family still live there, and we also have a house there.......so you can see I still have a huge connection with the place.....it was my home from when I was one year old, its a huge part of me and always will be.

 NOOSA
Above is a photo of  NOOSA the town we call home at the moment. It is also a  beautiful place and has a definite charm of it's own.......
This is going to be a fun challenge for me.....
Next week we will be in Lorne catching up with family and friends and I will be posting from there too.
I will take lots of photos around the town and show you some of my old haunts!!!
Should be fun!!!

Rain

It's still raining here in Noosa although it has eased off considerably.
We needed milk so I made a mad dash to the cafe on the corner.....
I sheltered here for a while till it eased off then made another mad dash home!!

When I got back one of those crazy bush turkeys was sitting on a neighbours deck doing the same thing...hanging around till the rain eased off.Maybe they're not as stupid as we think!!

It does rain in Queensland

Rain is good......

A couple of hardy souls out for a brisk (wet ) walk this morning by the river.
After heavy rain all night we are in for more of the same all day today.
